On January 12-24, the Department of Diplomacy and International Institutions hosts prof. Luciano Segreto from the University of Florence.

As part of the visit we organize for students up to 10 meetings / individual consultations with Professor Segreto, regarding scientific works and projects of students.

The scope of the issues:

Broadly understood: International institutions and societies in the age of globalization, International economic history

Consultations are dedicated to all Faculty students as well as PhD Students.

Interested students are requested to send at least one day before the scheduled meeting the work he or she is been working on or  at least one page of the project description / scientific article / research paper to the following addresses: anita.budziszewska@uw.edu.pl and lucianorenato.segreto@unifi.it.

Consultations are arranged individually during the dates: January 13-24.

Possible languages of instructions:  English, Italian, French and German.

Prof. Luciano Segreto:

Luciano Segreto is a Full Professor of economic history at the University of Florence, an Adjunct Professor of Corporate Governance at the Bocconi University of Milan since 2011, a Full Professor at the Gdansk University of Technology since 2015, and, since 2022, at the Warsaw branch of the College of Europe.

He was in charge of the School of Political Sciences’ international exchange programs (2000-2018) and the President of the Linguistic Centre of the University of Florence (2012-2016).

As part of the Erasmus program, he has given lectures and seminars in around 40 European universities.

In China, he has been a visiting professor and lectured every year at Shanghai Normal University from 2007 to 2019 and at Tongji University in 2018 and 2019. He is also the director of the Italian-Chinese Economic and Cultural Research Centre, established in 2009 at the College of Finance and Business of the Shanghai Normal University.

He has been a visiting professor at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (1994), the Université Paris XI (2003-2010), the Kozminski University of Warsaw (2007), the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan (2011-13), and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Lyon (2013, 2014, and 2019).

From 2008 to 2021, he was a member of the Scientific Committee of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme in Bordeaux (France), and since 2014, he has been a member of the Board of Patrons of «My Europe.»

He is a member of the scientific committee of “Revista de Historia Industrial y Empresarial,” “Historical Studies,” and “Polish Political Science Review” and a member of the management of “Passato e Presente.” He is a peer reviewer of “Business History”, “Business History Review “,” Economic History Review “,” Journal of Accounting “and numerous Italian contemporary history magazines His main interests are the history of family capitalism, the international dimension of the economy, banking history and corporate governance from a historical perspective.

Among his publications, there are ten books and around 200 articles and books chapters.
