Roman Kuźniar – Graduated from University of Warsaw, in political science, 1977. For most of his professional life he is member of the academic staff of the Institute of International Relations (University of Warsaw), first as Ph.D. student, then scholar. Today a professor of humanities, discypline – political science / international relations. Chair of strategic studies. Also in the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he held number of posts including twice head of the Policy Planning (1992-94, 2000-2002). Director of the Polish Institute of International Affairs (2005-2007). Adviser to the President of Poland for international affairs (2010-2015).

Research interests

International security / strategic studies, contemporary history of international relations, human rights, Poland’s foreign policy. Numerous books and articles on these subjects. Founder and Editor-in-chief of the Polish Strategic Yearbook (Rocznik Strategiczny), since 1995.
