Adam Szymański - Principal investigator

Associate professor in the Institute of Political Science, University of Warsaw, in 2004-2011 also analyst in the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM). Scholarship holder of the Program Start 2007 of the Foundation of the Polish Science, the project Modern University (2010) and the program for outstanding young scholars-foreigners of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey – TÜBITAK (2012) as well as at universities in Ankara (METU), Belfast, Berlin (FU), Bonn, Budapest, Istanbul (Istanbul University, Koç University), Konstanz, Tampere and Vienna. Head of the Warsaw Branch of the Polish Political Science Association (PTNP), member of the Polish European Studies Association (PTSE). Member of the International Political Science Association (IPSA) – including the membership in the executive committee of the Research Committee no. 03 – European Unification, standing groups “Religion and Politics”, “Politics of Southern Europe”, and “European Union” of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) and University Association for the Contemporary European Studies (UACES). Member of the European Social Movements Research Network and Collaborative Research Network “Centrifugal Europe: State, sovereignty and the future of European integration”. Author of more than 100 publications: books articles in domestic and foreign periodicals as well as analyses and expert opinions – on the European integration, political systems of selected states as well as international relations.

Jakub Wódka

Graduated from Warsaw School of Economics, Department of International Relations and Warsaw University, Institute of Oriental Studies. Currently assistant professor at the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where he received his PhD in 2010.

Jakub has published extensively on Turkish domestic and foreign policy, among others in Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies, Southeast European and Black Sea Studies, Futures, Turkish Policy Quarterly, Insight Turkey, Studia Polityczne, Myśl Ekonomiczna i Polityczna. He has authored and co-authored several books, among others Polityka zagraniczna Turcji. Uwarunkowania wewnętrzne oraz podmioty decyzyjne, published in 2012 and Europeizacja partii politycznych i grup interesu w wybranych krajach Partnerstwa Wschodniego i kandydujących do Unii Europejskiej published in 2015.

He has been an expert on Turkey-EU relations in the European Union in the World 2025 – Scenarios for EU relations with its neighbours and strategic partners project of the Dahrendorf Forum. Project director of the National Scientific Center-funded project on Differentiated integration, Turkish accession prospects and EU geopolitics.

In 2017/2018, visiting scholar at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at the Harvard University.

Wojciech Ufel

PhD student in the Institute of Political Science, University of Wrocław, where he studied political science and philosophy. His main research interests lie primarily in the area of political theory and political philosophy, especially in the context of contemporary theories of democracy, populism, and hegemony. He is preparing a doctoral thesis on deliberative practices and language, thesis advisior: prof. Robert Wiszniowski. Conducted scholarships at the Middle East Technical University and Charles University in Prague. Member of an Alternative Network for Alternative Academia, member of Polish Basic Income Network and of editorial collective of the book “Polityka/polityczność. Granice dyskursu”.

Amanda Dziubińska

Political scientist, graduated from the University of Warsaw, the Institute of Political Science. Researcher in the Center of French Culture and Francophone Studies (OKFiSF). She served an internship at the Institute of Public Affairs (ISP) in which she was involved in the monitoring of local elections and drafting post-election analysis. Foreign exchange student at Paris Institute of Political Studies (SciencesPo). Her research interests are focused on modern constitutional thought, systems of government in comparative perspective, as well as electoral manipulation and voting behaviour. She is preparing a doctoral thesis devoted to constitutional justice in France at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw.
