Results of the Evaluation by the Science Evaluation Committee and the Minister of Science and Higher Education

Dear Colleagues,

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has published an announcement regarding the completion of the next stage of the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity.

We are still awaiting the formal administrative decisions; however, we already know that the disciplines represented at our Faculty have achieved very good results:

• political science and public administration –> A,
• international relations – > A,
• security studies –> B+

This is an achievement of the entire Faculty community. These results are the outcome of many years of consistent work by our research staff, research and teaching staff, and administrative staff, who supported the Faculty’s scientific activity at various stages of the evaluation process. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you for your shared commitment and professionalism.

The evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of the quality of scientific activity. It covers the quality of academic publications, effectiveness in securing research funding, and cooperation with the socio-economic environment. The results confirm the high standard of research conducted at our Faculty, while also identifying areas that require further strengthening. These include, in particular, increasing grant-related activity and further advancing the internationalisation of research.

At the same time, we hope that, once the administrative decisions and detailed justifications for the evaluations have been received, it will be possible to reflect the Faculty’s academic achievements even more fully. Following a detailed analysis, we will take steps to ensure the best possible representation of the achievements of our disciplines. The final results will be known after the appeals period has ended.

The results also confirm the validity of our chosen direction of development, whose priorities remain scientific excellence, the internationalisation of research, the expansion of grant-related activity, and the strengthening of the impact of our research on social and economic life.

Together, we will continue to pursue the objectives set out in the Faculty Strategy by developing the scientific potential of our community, strengthening grant-related activity, advancing the internationalisation of research, and expanding cooperation with the socio-economic environment. The coming years will require us to maintain a strong focus on publications of the highest quality, the successful acquisition of research grants, and the development of international cooperation. We are confident that, thanks to the commitment of the entire academic community, we will be able not only to maintain our current standing but also to achieve even better results.
