Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the NAWA Internationalization Day in Toruń

On November 28, 2025, Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk, PhD, professor and dean of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, took part in Internationalization Day organized by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) in cooperation with Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.

The event, which was part of a series of consultations accompanying work on the National Strategy for the Internationalization of Science and Higher Education, was held under the slogan Scientific Publishing – Scientific Publications, Between Productivity and Scientific Excellence.

The meeting brought together representatives of the academic community, editors-in-chief of journals, and experts on science policy. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the role of publications in the process of internationalizing Polish science. During the discussion panels and consultations, key issues for the development of the disciplines represented by our Faculty were raised, including:

• the impact of journal scoring on the international visibility of research,
• challenges related to the Open Science model,
• the relationship between the evaluation of achievements and actual scientific excellence.

Dean Prof. Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk took part in a panel entitled The role of scientific journals in the internationalization and dissemination of scientific research, which was moderated by Dr. Adam Marszałek (President of Marszałek Publishing Group). Other panelists included:

• Prof. Sabina Grabowska, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education at the University of Rzeszów, editor-in-chief of the bimonthly Przegląd Prawa Konstytucyjnego (Constitutional Law Review)
• Prof. Renata Podgórzańska, Vice-Rector for Education at the University of Szczecin, editor-in-chief of the quarterly Reality of Politics
• Prof. Jadwiga Woźniak-Kasperek, University of Warsaw, Faculty of Journalism, Information and Bibliology, member of the Council for Scientific Excellence
• Prof. Piotr Siemiątkowski, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, editor-in-chief of the Toruń International Studies journal
• Prof. Tadeusz Wallas, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, member of the Council for Scientific Excellence

The Dean’s presence at this event is an expression of the commitment of the WNPiSM authorities to shaping the strategic directions of Polish higher education and ensuring that the perspective of political science and administration, security, and international relations is taken into account in the nationwide debate on evaluation and internationalization.
