It is with deep regret that we received the news of the death of Dr. Robert Staniszewski, a respected researcher, lecturer, and long-time employee of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw.
Dr. Robert Staniszewski had been associated with the University of Warsaw since the beginning of his academic career. A graduate of Political Science and Social Sciences and Management, he was a scholarship holder of the Minister of National Education, the Open Society Institute, the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, and the Stefan Batory Foundation. Distinguished by his academic achievements, he combined his passion for research with his commitment to teaching from the very beginning of his career.
In 2005, he obtained a PhD in political science. As an assistant and then an adjunct professor, he was associated with the Institute of Political Sciences for many years, and most recently with the Department of Political Sociology and Political Marketing at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw.
He was the founder and director of an intercollegiate research laboratory implementing the project “Social perception of phenomena and processes during the period of systemic transformation in Poland.” He conducted numerous studies on, among other things, the social perception of migrants, refugees from Ukraine, and government actions in crisis situations. He was actively involved in the work of research teams dealing with the most important social and political processes in Poland, and his expert opinions and analyses were prepared for ministries, public institutions, and the private sector. He was an expert for national and international institutions, including the European Commission, the National Center for Research and Development, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, the Polish Bank Association, and many others.
Dr. Robert Staniszewski was a respected scientist, but above all, a kind, open, and inspiring person. He was greatly liked and respected by his students, who always emphasized his commitment, professionalism, and extraordinary ability to impart knowledge.
We have lost an outstanding colleague, collaborator, and teacher, whose loss is irreparable for our community.
We offer our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Dr. Robert Staniszewski.
