Empowering the Future: The Importance of Meaningful Youth Engagement in UN Programming*

Magda Janiszewska
Magda has an extensive background in the non-profit sector, beginning her career at the British Refugee Council as an Integration Adviser, where she supported newly recognized refugees in their transition to life in the UK. Following the successful completion of that project, she transitioned to the University of the Arts London as a Student Adviser, working with both international and domestic students to facilitate access to higher education. Seeking new challenges, Magda joined the UNDP’s Regional Youth Project in the Arab States, focusing on economic inclusion and political participation of young people. She holds a master’s degree in Migration, Mobility, and Development, with a specialization in the MENA region. Magda is passionate about human rights, social justice, sustainable development, and gender equality.

* Lecture is a part of the course Philanthropy and International Organisations in global and regional perspective: reinventing social leaderships and global governance. Course is offered as a result of the Research project “Philanthropy and international relations: how do cultural, political and axiological settings determine philanthropy?” that was conducted at the Geneva Centre for Philanthropy, University of Geneva by Anita Budziszewska and funded by the Swiss Government within the research programme “Swiss Confederation Excellence” for international scholars.
Course is conducted on Mondays at 9.45 at University of Warsaw (morning session). Due to limited seats offered at the stage of registration, we are opening the single meetings in the formula of “open lectures” for all interested students, including students that were not able to join and register for the course. The second afternoon “regional” session is conducted by the University of Geneva. Only registered (in USOS) students have access to the second session.
Course is conducted under the 4EU+ Alliance initiative within the University of Warsaw offer.
