dr Michał Szczegielniak – administrator and political scientist, member of the Consultative Team for Social Research in the Prime Minister’s Office (from 2022) and the Council for Senior Policy (from 2024), civil servant, doctor of social sciences in the field of political science and administration (2023). Graduate of the UW Institute of Political Science – specialization in marketing and political consulting, and Leon Kozminski Academy – specialization in government administration. Member of the European Consortium for Political Research and the Polish Society for European Studies. Member of the editorial board of the European Review since 2014. Expert of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy (since 2022), the National Institute of Freedom – Center for Civil Society Development (since 2020), the Stocznia Research and Social Innovation Workshop in the Active Citizens – National Fund Program (2020-2021) and the Education for Democracy Foundation in the Active Citizens – Regional Fund Program (2021-2022). Participant and organizer of many conferences and scientific events – including the international scientific symposium entitled “Civil service in Poland – 20 years of experience and prospects for change” and the international scientific conference , “100 years of the Polish civil service”. Former member of the Board of the UW Doctoral Students’ Self-Government, the Faculty Council of Doctoral Students, the Scholarship Appeal Committee and the Disciplinary Committee for Students and Doctoral Students. Winner of the 2018 Scientific Debut – Sustainable Development competition in the master’s degree category organized by the State Higher Vocational School in Raciborz, the Department of Organization and Management at the Silesian University of Technology and the Silesian Center for Business Ethics and Sustainable Development.

Research interests:
Public administration in the political system of the state; the state in the face of demographic challenges of an aging population; the right to information and its limitations; local government and local policies; civil society in the age of the information revolution; state-church relations.
