On October 29-30, the Faculty had an honour to host Professor Iver Neumann, one of Europe’s best-known researchers who combines anthropology and political science in his research, as well as a Russian scholar. He is currently director of Norway’s Fridtjof Nansen Institute.

At the invitation of Professor Alicia Curanović, as part of her lecture “Post Soviet Russia. Getting Right its Politics, Identity and Culture,” Prof. Neumann led a class on Russia’s position in the European order from a historical perspective, and co-evaluated students’ credit papers. The workshop with Prof. Neumann was a unique opportunity to ask even the most controversial, most difficult questions about Russian politics.

The visit was funded by the IDUB program.
