Department of Diplomacy and International Institutions WNPiSM – in collaboration with the University of Florence – is organising a visit at the University of Warsaw of Prof. Luciano Segreto (22 – 26th January 2025)
In connection to above, on 23 January 2025 (Thursday) we pleased to invite all interested students and staff for an open seminar titled:
‘The (Post)Globalisation Era and Global Governance Dynamics: Towards a More Visible Role for Private and Business Sectors in International Relations’.
The meeting will be held in English.

Presentation (20 minutes): Prof. Luciano Segreto, University of Florence

Intervention (10 minutes): Dr Anita Budziszewska, Member of Department of Diplomacy and International Institutions, WNPiSM University of Warsaw
Title: ‘New Emerging Non State Actors in International Relations and their impact on Global Governance Dynamics: case of Philanthropic Foundations’.
Discussion Session (45 minutes)
The seminar will be held in a stationary mode/format on 23 January (Thursday) at 11.30 am.

SEMINARS FOR STUDENTS:
In addition to the seminar, individual consultations are organised for students and doctoral students of the Faculty. Consultations are based on research papers, articles, projects, etc. The consultations have the formula of a scientific and didactic conversation focused on the sent papers/articles.
Scope of issues: International institutions and societies in the era of globalisation, International Economic History, Business in International Relations.
The consultations are dedicated to students from the Contemporary Diplomacy specialisation/International Relations (3 places/ 3 hours) and open to students from all programmes and specialisations (Master and Doctoral Studies) of the Faculty (3 places/ 3 hours).
Individual or group seminars will be arranged on 22-25 January. Languages of instructions: English, Italian, French and German.
For all interested students: at least one day before the scheduled meeting a one-page description of a project / scientific article / research paper should be sent to: dyplomacja.wnpism@uw.edu.pl.

Prof. Luciano Segreto:
Luciano Segreto is a Full Professor of economic history at the University of Florence, an Adjunct Professor of Corporate Governance at the Bocconi University of Milan, a Full Professor at the Gdansk University of Technology, and at the Warsaw branch of the College of Europe. He is also the director of the Italian- Chinese Economic and Cultural Research Centre, established in 2009 at the College of Finance and Business of the Shanghai Normal University. He has been a visiting professor at many international universities. In the past he was a member of the Scientific Committee of the Maison des Sciences de L’homme in Bordeaux (France), and since 2014, he has been a member of the Board of Patrons of «My Europe.»
