On 26 July, 2024, the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw hosted the third day of the Seventh International Conference of the World International Studies Committee (WISC) under the theme “International Relations in a World of Flux: Understanding Continuity, Change and Contestation”.
Today’s meetings accounted for 37 discussion panels, including four plenary sessions, during which key issues related to international security, the role of the Global South in contemporary international relations, and theories of the discipline of international relations were addressed. Each of these sessions attracted a large audience interested in deepening their knowledge and exchanging views on these important topics.
The sessions provided an opportunity to hear from prominent specialists from various fields who shared their latest research and analyses. Discussions on international security focused on contemporary threats and crisis management strategies, while panels on the Global South enabled a deeper understanding of the role of these regions in shaping global politics. Theoretical considerations of international relations provided participants with new perspectives and analytical tools.
