Undergraduate Programme in Political Science
Undergraduate

This programme provides students with a strong foundation in political systems, governance, and public policy. Combining theoretical perspectives with applied analysis, students study political theory, comparative politics, and policy-making, alongside training in research methods. By developing critical thinking and analytical skills to understand political processes and institutions, the programme prepares students for further study, as well as careers in public administration, research, and the non-governmental sector.

European Politics and Economics
Undergraduate

This programme explores the political, economic, and legal dimensions of European integration. Students learn how the European Union operates, including its institutions, policies, and impact on member states. Analytical and practical skills are developed through workshops, simulations, debates, and discussions. The programme combines political science and economics to support critical analysis of the contemporary opportunities and challenges of European integration.

Social and Public Policy
Undergraduate

The Social and Public Policy programme prepares students to understand, design, and evaluate policies addressing social and public challenges. The programme takes an interdisciplinary approach, combining social and public policy with law, economics, history, and culture. A distinct feature of the programme is the opportunity to earn a Double Degree with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, allowing students to receive diplomas from both institutions and gain unique international academic experience.

Graduate Programme in International Relations

This programme offers advanced study in international relations and global affairs. Students deepen their understanding of international politics, economics, and social processes, while engaging with interdisciplinary perspectives including law, business, history, and culture. This programme develops advanced critical thinking, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills for addressing complex global issues. The balance between theoretical insight and applied expertise is reflected in a wide range of courses and two specialisations: a social track and an economic track. The programme’s unique character is further highlighted by the opportunity to earn Double Degree Diplomas in collaboration with renowned universities. This programme prepares students for advanced research and professional careers in international environments.

Graduate Programme in Political Science
Graduate

This programme offers an advanced, interdisciplinary approach to the study of political systems, governance, and public policy. Students deepen their understanding of comparative politics, democracy, civil society, and political communication, while developing practical competencies in leadership, negotiation, conflict management, and political strategy. This programme includes training in quantitative and qualitative methods, political marketing, and citizen participation, and is structured around two specialisation pathways: practical politics and a research-oriented workshop track. Through applied projects, simulations, and critical analysis, students develop advanced analytical and research skills. This programme prepares graduates for professional careers in politics, public administration, and the non-governmental sector, as well as for advanced research.

People

The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies has been operating for over half a century and now consists of more than 3,500 students, 200 lecturers, and 80 members of administrative staff. This well-established and broad academic community fosters a collaborative environment, in which teaching, learning, and professional engagement provide the foundations for high-quality education.
