Piotr Celiński M. Eng. – a graduate of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology at the Warsaw University of Technology. Since 2022, research and technical employee at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw. Research and technical employee at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies at the University of Warsaw (2017-2021); Didactic associate at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science (2002 – 2017). Co-founder of the Big Data Management studies at the University of Warsaw. Lecturer at the summer school for students from the University of Chengdu (2019), and co-creator of its programme. He gained professional experience in Polish Press Agency, Polish Academy of Sciences (Institute of Geophysics, member of the XVI expedition of the Polish Academy of Sciences to the Polish Polar Station in Svalbard). He also runs his own business. Participation in the projects:

  • Identification, Collection and Assessment of Hostile Disinformation Operations in Cyberspace Based on ICT Tools (IKONA), Cybersecident/489281/IV/NCBR/2021 – CRI-UW Consortium (PLN 6.6 million).
  • Development of a solution for extracting and analysing information from R&D&I BigData sources, grant/project number 2/17/PN (PLN 1.4 million).
  • Development of a solution for monitoring technological trends. [Polish] National Centre for Research and Development grant/project number 26/18/PN (PLN 600 thousand).

Research interests

Information acquisition and collection for Big Data analysis; natural language processing; information refinement; Big Data analysis; data visualisation; new media; mobile technologies; software development; IT security.
