Firlit-Fesnak Grażyna

prof. dr hab. Grażyna Firlit-Fesnak – Professor, Ph.D. of social sciences, research and didactic worker at the Department of Social Policy at the Faculty of Political Sciences and International Studies of the University of Warsaw, from 1994 to 2006 – Deputy Director and during 2007-2008 Director of the Institute of Social Policy of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, in 2009-2019 Head of the Department of Migration and Ethnic Relations at the same Institute. In 2011-2018, a member of the Committee on Migration Research of Polish Academy of Science. In 1993-1996, a member of the Social Policy Council at the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland, between 1991 and 2011, a coordinator of the cooperation of the Institute of Social Policy with German universities, she received the award of the German Minister of Education and Science for outstanding achievements in the field of German-Polish cooperation of universities (2005). From 2009 until 2016, a member of the Program Council of the Masovian Observatory of the Labour Market. She participated in the implementation of 23 research projects, including 3 international ones, and in 11 of them she was the project coordinator. Currently, she is co-implementing a project financed by the European Social Fund “Implementation of a new model of training specialists in rehabilitation management – as an element of comprehensive rehabilitation in Poland.”

Research interests

Sociology of migration and migration policy, social inequalities, discrimination and equal treatment policy, family sociology and family policy.
