Anioł Włodzimierz

prof. dr hab. Włodzimierz Anioł – Professor (2003) Ph.D. (1982) habilitation (1990)  in political science. Profesor at the University of Warsaw (1992). In 2013-2020 he served as a member of the Central Committee for Degrees and Titles. In 1984-1986 he held the post of the Vice-Director of the Institute of Political Science, and in 1999-2004 he was the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science. He was a Mellon Research Fellow at NIAS, the Netherlands (1995-1996). He has also worked in the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and given lectures at SWPS University, SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and the College of Social Sciences at the Polish Academy of Sciences. In 2011-2015, he served as the President of the Scientific Board at the Institute of Western Affairs in Poznań. He founded the Norden Centrum Scientific Foundation, and has been its member since 2011. For many years, he has worked as an expert and advisor for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland. He has also sat on the Prime Minister’s European Integration Council. In 2004-2008, he was first counselor and chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Oslo. He has managed many research projects financed by the State Committee for Scientific Research and the National Science Centre. He has been supervisor for seven PhD students and around 200 Master’s degree students in political science. 15 books and over 200 chapters of collective works and articles published in academic journals are attributed to his name.

Research interests

Theoretical and practical aspects of public policy, globalisation, European and international integration, comparative social policy.
