Męcina Jacek

prof. dr hab. Jacek Męcina – Professor, lawyer, social politician, since 1993 an employee of the Institute of Social Policy of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Warsaw, Director of the Institute of Social Policy (2016-2019). Formerly deputy director of the Institute of Labour and Social Affairs (1997–2000). Dean’s representative for cooperation with the business environment. Member of the bimonthly program council Human Resources Management and quarterly Social Dialogue, editorial board of Social Policy. Scholarship holder of the European TEMPUS Program (1997) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2001-2002). He participated in the implementation of the following research projects. Manager of the Research Project “Social dialogue at the workplace level” financed under the ESF Human Capital program, 2008-2013, Businessmen and Craftsmen – research project carried out with the Warsaw School of Economics Research Team; Participant of the research project “In search of security in the labour market. Economic migrations from and to Poland and the attractiveness of the Polish labour market ”financed by the National Science Centre under the OPUS program. Author of over 100 books, articles and studies in the field of labour law, employment relations, social dialogue and the issues of employment policy and the labour market. He combines his research passions with involvement in the public service as a member of the Tripartite Commission for Socio-Economic Affairs (since 2004), deputy minister of economy and labour responsible for the problems of labour law, wages, social dialogue and the labour market (2005), and since 2012, the Secretary of State in Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. Since 2012, in the ranking of Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, he has been selected among the 50 most influential lawyers in Poland, having a key impact on the shape of labour legislation and labour market regulation in Poland.
