Pronińska Kamila

Kamila Pronińska, a professor at the University of Warsaw, holds a PhD in political science and a habilitation in security studies. She specialises in energy security, non-military security threats, the protection of critical energy infrastructure, and armed conflicts. She is a recipient of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education award for young and outstanding scientists (2013) and a winner of the Natolin European Centre Foundation competition, receiving the I.J. Paderewski grant for the project “The impact of energy cooperation of Central European countries on the regional energy security and energy policy of the EU,” conducted at the European University Institute (2012). She served as an expert in the Energy Security and Climate Policy Program at the University of Warsaw’s Centre for Political Science Studies (2010–2014) and as an energy security expert for the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland under the Presidential Expert Program (2015). She has served as an expert on energy security of Poland and the Baltic region within NATO Science and Technology Organisation projects: SAS-163 “Energy Security in the Era of Hybrid Warfare” (2020–2022) and SAS-183 “Energy Security Resilience, Capability and Interoperability” (2023–2025). She has participated in international projects funded by entities such as the EU, NATO, SIPRI, and the National Science Centre (NCN). She is the author of scholarly publications covering energy security, energy transition, armed conflicts, and international security, including the monograph Energy Security in EU-Russia Relations: Geopolitics and the Economics of Energy Resources (2012). She was a visiting professor at, among others, the University of Tampere, the University of Copenhagen, the University of Barcelona, and the University of Granada.
