Kossewska Elżbieta

Elżbieta Kossewska (PhD) –  is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, and an employee of the Center for Research on Contemporary Israel and the Jewish Diaspora. She received her PhD in political science from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science at the University of Warsaw, and obtained habilitation in cultural studies from the University of Warsaw’s “Artes Liberales” Faculty. For over ten years, she has been a supervisor of academic projects financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the National Science Centre. She has received scholarships from the Fulbright Commission, the Foundation for Polish Science, the Kosciuszko Foundation and the De Brzezie Lanckoronski Foundation. She has done research and academic internships at Oxford University, Tel Aviv University, Stanford University and Harvard University.

Research Interests

The history of Polish Jews in Israel, the history of Polish emigration after World War II, political problems related to emigration and exile, Polish-Israeli relations, and the cultural and literary heritage of Polish emigrants.
