płk dr Piotr PotejkoDoctor of Humanities (2003), lawyer, member of research and teaching staff at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw. In 2009-2012, he was an Associate Professor at the Department of Forensic Science, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Professionally, he has also involved with special services, for many years as the Director of the Classified Information Protection Department, Director of the Central Training Centre, Advisor to the Chief, Plenipotentiary for the organisation of the NATO Summit in Warsaw. Participant of specialist courses: “First Responder Negotiations”, “Concepts for Commanders”, “Explosive Self-Defence System”, “On Strategic Communications for POL Senior Officials”, “STRATCOM COE”. Graduate of the State Police School Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Forensic Science, of the Federal Police Academy Lübeck in the field of international cooperation and cross-border crime and of the FBI in the field of crime. Member of the Steering Committee of the National Centre for Research and Development for implementing strategic and international security issues and international projects related to research concerning security and defence in the context of the Polish economy. Co-leader of many Polish and international research projects, including: “Design of empirical studies and analysis of materials concerning the specificity of forensic methods in the work of special services and law enforcement agencies”, “Towards a more effective fight against Asian organised crime undermining the economic interests of the European Union” or “A model of disclosure regulations and its limitations in a democratic state of law”. Co-author of the amendments to the Law on the Protection of Classified Information and the implementing regulations to it. In 2004-2009, he was the representative of the Prime Minister for proceedings and initialling interstate agreements on the protection of classified information. For many years, he was a lecturer and expert on security at the European Academy of Diplomacy in Warsaw. Editor-in-chief of the “Przegląd Bezpieczeństwa Wewnętrznego” [Internal Security Review] scientific journal. Participant of the Polish Platform for Homeland Security. Founding member of the Association for the Support of National Security. In 2008-2019, he delivered speeches at events in Tallinn, Madrid and Ceuta, among other places. He was awarded a team prize by the Minister of National Education for co-authoring a textbook entitled Pedagogika specjalna [Special Education].

Internal and international security; special services in the modern state; organisation and implementation of security systems; management of crisis and terrorist situations; quality management in administration; cyber security; disinformation and information gathering; information security in business; protection of classified information, personal data and legally protected secrets; forensic science.
