Global Impact, Local Roots: Swiss Philanthropy in the International Ecosystem *

Piotr Augustyniak:

Private Wealth and International Public Law Specialist. Repeatedly awarded by international legal rankings in Private Clients and Private Wealth Law. CEO of  Columbus Private (Suisse)- a multi family office in Geneva. He has advised, among others, on the creation of numerous private and charitable foundations and trusts in various jurisdictions. Personally involved in various philanthropic projects.  He obtained an LL.M. degree in international tax law from the WU in Vienna. He is a graduate of the TRIUM Global MBA London School of Economics, NYU Stern and HEC Paris. Graduate of the Tax Policy and Administration programmes at Harvard Kennedy School;  Leadership in Law Firms and Transforming Client Relationships through Innovation Program at Harvard Law School. Member of the International Bar Association, International Fiscal Association, Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners, Royal Institute of International Affairs.

* Lecture is a part of the course Philanthropy and International Organisations in global and regional perspective: reinventing social leaderships and global governance. Course is offered as a result of the Research project  “Philanthropy and international relations: how do cultural, political and axiological settings determine philanthropy?” that was conducted at the Geneva Centre for Philanthropy, University of Geneva by Anita Budziszewska and funded by the Swiss Government within the research programme “Swiss Confederation Excellence” for international scholars.

Course is conducted on Mondays at 9.45 at University of Warsaw (morning session). Due to limited seats offered at the stage of registration,  we are opening the single meetings in the formula  of “open lectures” for all interested students, including students that were not able to join and register for the course. The second afternoon “regional” session is coordinated by the University of Geneva. Only registered (in USOS) students have access to the second session.

Course is conducted under the European Commission initiative: 4EU+ Alliance.
