On March 15th, Dr Iuliia Eremenko held a guest lecture in the framework of the all university course “Cultural Heritage in International Relations. Political and Legal Challenges” run by dr hab. Hanna Schreiber. Dr Eremenko presented main matters of international interest regarding the UNESCO World Heritage Convention 1972 as well as her own research focus developed in the grant “Local experts in Polish and German World Heritage Cities: understanding their role in polycentric governance of heritage sites” (project 2021/43/P/HS5/02926 co-funded by the National Science Centre and the European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement no. 945339).
Dr Eremenko’s presentation offered valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in managing World Heritage sites and highlighted the critical role that local experts could play in this process.
