The Department of Political Systems at the WNPiSM UW invites you to a lecture entitled China, Taiwan and the Thucydides Trap: War Risks in the Strait and Beyond, to be held on May 8, 2025 (Wednesday) from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in room 223 of the Auditorium Building.
The presentation will focus on the growing risk of conflict in the Taiwan Strait in the context of the US-China rivalry. It will discuss the strategic importance of Taiwan, scenarios for regional escalation, and the validity of the concept of the “Thucydides Trap” in analyzing the global balance of power.
The lecture will be held in English. Anyone interested in international politics and global security is welcome to attend.
