Dear Members of the Academic Community of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies,
In light of recent events concerning the dismissal of the former Dean, Dr. hab. Daniel Przastek, due to information about irregularities in his behavior and actions, I would like to assure you that my absolute priority is to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive academic environment for every member of our community.
All individuals who feel affected by the situation can count on my full support. Students, PhD candidates, Academic Staff, and Administrative Employees should feel confident that they are heard, respected, and, above all, safe within our Faculty.
I am fully cooperating with the authorities of the University of Warsaw to thoroughly investigate the matter and implement appropriate remedial actions. With the support of His Magnificence, the Rector, and the Head of the UW Psychological Support Center, I pledge that the Faculty will provide special assistance to all individuals who feel impacted by the situation.
I am aware that the current circumstances evoke strong emotions; however, I want to assure you that I am taking all necessary steps to ensure they do not affect the daily functioning of the Faculty in terms of teaching, research, and organization.
I call on all members of our academic community to collaborate, remain open, and engage in dialogue. Together, let us develop effective solutions that will enable us to continue building an academic environment founded on mutual respect and the dignity of every individual.
Prof. Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk – Acting Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies
