On April 21, 2013, a discussion panel “Three times against the current. Karski, Lemkin, Ringelblum. ” took place at the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.

Among the panelists was prof. Roman Kuźniar, who introduced the figure of Rafał Lemkin (1900-1959) and his unprecedented contribution to the development of international law by creating the concept of genocide.

It is worth adding that Institute of International Relations (ISM) is actively involved in popularizing the achievements of Rafał Lemkin, also through preparatory work for the first translation into Polish of the most famous work of Rafał Lemkin, in which the definition of genocide appears for the first time: “Axis Rule in Occupied Europe“, published in 1944 in United States. The participants of the debate could received an excerpt from this book, translated for the 70th anniversary of the uprising by  Agnieszka Bieńczyk Missala PhF and Hanna Schreiber PhD (chapter IX, entitled Genocide).

The Institute of International Relations was a partner of the event.
