Dr. Jędrzejowska elected to the ISA Governing Council

Dr. Karina Jędrzejowska – our Colleague from the Department of Regional and Global Studies at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw – was elected as a Member At-Large of the Governing Council of the International Studies Association (ISA). Dr. Jędrzejowska received the highest number of votes in the December 2024 elections. 

The Governing Council is the main governing body of the Association. The ISA is one of the oldest and undeniably the largest scholarly association in the discipline of international relations. The ISA was founded in 1959 on the initiative of researchers from the United States. Currently, the ISA has more than 7,000 members.

Dr. Jędrzejowska is a graduate of the University of Manchester (MSc Globalisation and Development), the Warsaw School of Economics (Finance and Banking) and the University of Warsaw (International Relations). She is the author of the monograph “State Insolvency (Bankruptcy) in International Relations” (2018) and numerous publications from the research areas of international finance, international political economy and development economics. Co-editor of “The Future of Global Economic Governance – Challenges and Prospects in the Age of Uncertainty” (2020, with A. Wróbel and M. Rewizorski) and “Global Economic Governance. Challenges for the World Trading System” (2020, with A. Wróbel and M. Rewizorski). Her research interests include financing economic development, governance of the global financial system, the international monetary system, sovereign debt, international financial markets and financial systems of developing countries. From 2017 to 2023, Dr. Jędrzejowska was a member of the Governing Board and Treasurer of the World International Studies Committee (WISC).
