Dr. Tomasz Łukaszuk visits East Timor

Recently, Dr. Tomasz Łukaszuk visited East Timor as part of an IDUB microgrant, carrying out activities related to the development of international cooperation at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw.

During his stay, Dr. Łukaszuk met with the Rector of the National University of East Timor (UNTL), His Excellency Prof. Joao Soares Martins, finalizing talks on the planned signing of a cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw and UNTL. The agreement will cover, among other things, academic exchanges, joint research projects, and teaching initiatives.

During his visit, Dr. Łukaszuk was also received by the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Dr. José Ramos-Horta, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize (1996). During the meeting, an interview was conducted, which will be published in a scientific publication edited by researchers from the field of international relations at our Faculty.

The visit is an important step in strengthening academic relations between Poland and East Timor and developing scientific cooperation in the field of political science and international relations.
