

The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, together with the Aleksander Kwaśniewski Amicus Europae Foundation and the Gabriel Narutowicz Institute of Political Thought, invite you to participate in a debate entitled “The Constitution of the Republic of Poland – the foundation of the political system, potential for change”, which will take place on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Old Library of the University of Warsaw, at 26/28 Krakowskie Przedmieście Street.
The event will open a series of meetings devoted to selected aspects of the functioning of the 1997 Constitution of the Republic of Poland. Participants in the debate will reflect on nearly thirty years of practice in applying the Constitution, relations between the principal executive authorities, and the relationship between political culture and the functioning of the constitutional system. The discussion will also cover questions about potential directions for change and the current constitutional needs of the state.
The meeting will be attended by prominent representatives of the world of politics, law, and science, including former Presidents of the Republic of Poland, judges of the Constitutional Tribunal, parliamentarians, and experts on constitutional issues.
