On October 23, 2025, in Room 223 of the Auditorium Building at the University of Warsaw, a scientific seminar entitled “Are We Facing a Demographic Catastrophe?” was held. The event featured Bartosz Marczuk and Paweł Kot, authors of the book “How to Avoid a Demographic Catastrophe?”
The seminar attracted a large audience, both on-site and online. The discussion focused on the key demographic challenges facing Poland today, including the declining birth rate and the ageing of the population. The authors presented their original proposals for measures that could help counteract these negative trends and strengthen the country’s development potential.
Participants had the opportunity not only to listen to the authors’ presentations but also to join the discussion, sharing their insights and questions related to family policy, the labour market, and the future of social security systems.
The meeting concluded with a lively debate and an invitation to continue research collaboration and dialogue on Poland’s demographic future.
