Since at least 2019, there has been a significant rise in the popularity of radical right-wing groups across Europe. Analyses show that these parties are mainly supported by young voters. This phenomenon is present in Poland, Germany and many other countries and requires in-depth academic reflection.

Consequently, the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, in collaboration with the European University Viadrina (EUV), has developed a distinctive elective course for students at both institutions. The classes will be held in a blended learning format and will include:

  • two weekend workshops, one in Warsaw (17–19 October) and one in Frankfurt (Oder) and Berlin (12–14 December);
  • six online sessions will take place between October and November.
  • elements of a study visit, and a cultural programme.

Full participation in the course is worth 6 ECTS points. Thanks to a grant awarded to the course coordinator, prof. Wojciech Gagatek, by the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation, students of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies can participate in the trip to Germany free of charge.

Recruitment rules:

  • Number of places: 10 from the University of Warsaw and 10 from the University of Economics and Business.
