Visiting Researcher at the University of Warsaw under the LoGov MSCA-RISE Project

Our Faculty is implementing an international project Local Government and the Changing Urban-Rural Interplay (LoGov) in cooperation with 18 partners from all over the world. One of them is the Swiss consulting corporation Ximpulse based in Bern, whose expert Dr. Erika Schläppi has been seconded to our Faculty. Students of the Faculty has had the opportunity to participate in a seminar entitled Switzerland – a political system based on federalism, direct democracy and compromise. Dr. Schläppi has presented the key elements of Swiss political solutions and answered students’ questions.

The LoGov project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (MSCA-RISE) programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) grant agreement No 823961.

Dr. Erika Schläppi is a lawyer and expert consultant on human rights and governance issues, particularly in the context of development and peace building. Her knowledge of human rights and governance work stems from different professional perspectives, including academic research, international governmental policy, non-governmental advocacy, and many years of consultancy work.

Ximpulse is a team of independent expert consultants. Ximpulse work in developing and transition countries as well as Switzerland and the EU, and supports stakeholders in reform and peace processes, often in conflict-affected and fragile contexts. Their core areas of expertise are constitution building and power-sharing, governance, access to justice and human rights as well as mediation and conflict transformation.
