The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies cordially invites you to an online scientific seminar on January 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Our guest speaker, Dr. Valentina Gevorgyan, will present a lecture titled “How Civil Society in Poland Counters Russian Disinformation.”

Dr. Gevorgyan is currently conducting her research at our Faculty as a Fellow of the Lane Kirkland Scholarship Program, under the academic supervision of dr hab. Jacek Zaleśny. Her work focuses on the role and strategies of Polish civil society in mitigating the impact of Russian disinformation campaigns.

Dr. Valentina Gevorgyan is an expert in the field of civil society studies in contemporary states. She holds teaching positions at The Faculty of Political Science, Yerevan State University and The Department of European Studies and Slavic Studies, University of Fribourg.

Dr. Gevorgyan earned her PhD from the University of Fribourg. Her doctoral research was recently published as a monograph titled “Civil Society and Government Institutions in Armenia: Leaving Behind the Post-Soviet Title” by Routledge.

The seminar will be conducted in English via an online platform.
