New Book by Professor Włodzimierz Anioł
The book examines traditionalist populism from a comparative perspective. It is particularly characteristic of the ruling forces of the last 15 years in Central and Eastern European countries, but also of the policies pursued by the authorities in countries such as Turkey, India, Brazil, and ultimately the United States. In the monograph, Professor Anioł presents portraits of the leading leaders of this trend and emphasizes the key role played by affective politics, which is based on emotions. The author discusses two main pillars of populist governance, conventionally referred to in the book as “Igrzyska i Chleb. Populizm tradycjonalistyczny w perspektywie porównawczej.” Professor Anioł emphasizes that the monograph encompasses a broad international comparative perspective and employs a multidisciplinary approach that combines the perspectives of traditional political science with those of psychology, sociology, and cultural studies. The book was published by the University of Warsaw Press and is available as an e-book on the publisher’s website. We congratulate Professor Anioł on his new publication and encourage you to read.
