Women’s Day at the Faculty of Politcal Science and International Studies

This year’s Women’s Day at the Faculty of Politcal Science and International Studies was exceptionally dynamic and diverse. The event was designed as an all-day program combining community-building activities with meaningful discussions and practical workshops.
The morning began with a self-defense workshop titled “The Weaker Gender? Not Necessarily!”, led by trainers from Sekkura. The session included both theoretical and practical components. Participants had the opportunity to practice the most useful defense techniques.
The next item on the agenda was the “What You Pass On” workshop, led by Agata Gwiazdowska. The gathering around a shared table provided an opportunity to discuss nutrition education.
The afternoon was marked by the debate “Women at the University: Conversations on Breaking the Glass Ceiling.” Representatives from the worlds of science, public life, and administration took part in the discussion. Participants included: Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Prof. Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk, Vice Rector Prof. Ewa Krogulec, Prof. Gerturda Uścińska, Prof. Aleksandra Gasztold, Dr. Katarzyna Biejat, and Dr. Karolina Zioło-Pużuk, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The discussion focused on the challenges facing women seeking to advance their careers in science. Since each of the guests has achieved significant success, we also talked about women’s strategies for climbing the career ladder.
