Alumni Events – Spring 2026

We’re back with events involving our alumni, which are always very popular and serve as an important forum for sharing experiences across different generations of our community. In the coming months, we plan to organize both alumni lectures and new formats of meetings that will bring together the voices of faculty, students, and alumni. Details regarding upcoming events will be published soon.

We’d like to invite you now to the inaugural meeting of the new series: a panel discussion titled “Polish Politics 2026: Stabilization or a Prelude to Elections?” The meeting will focus on the current political situation in Poland and what the coming months leading up to the parliamentary elections might look like. During the discussion, we will attempt to answer questions about the dynamics of the Polish party scene, the strategies of key political actors, and public sentiment that may shape future election campaigns. Is the Polish political scene in 2026 in a moment of stability, or rather in a period preceding the next electoral mobilization? What political processes already foreshadow the upcoming campaigns and possible realignments on the party scene?

The discussion will bring together representatives of three groups associated with our Department: the faculty, the alumni community, and the student body. Participants in the discussion will include:

Dr. Anna Materska-Sosnowska – a member of the academic staff at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies and a member of the board of the Batory Foundation

Marcin Duma – a representative of the alumni community of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies and founder of the Institute for Market and Social Research (IBRiS)

Krzysztof Heyda-Wykrytowicz – representative of the student community at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies,  third-year political science student; co-founder of the Strategy and Security Policy Research Club

The meeting will provide an opportunity not only to analyze current political events, but also to foster dialogue within the Faculty community. By bringing together representatives from three different groups, we aim to create a space for regular discussion of the most important public issues—so that we can interpret political realities together and share our diverse experiences and perspectives.

We invite everyone interested to the Jan Baszkiewicz Auditorium. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19.
