Organization:

Renata Latała, Department of General History (University of Geneva)

Anita Budziszewska, Faculty of Political Sciences and International Studies (University of Warsaw)

The meeting is a result of the Letter of Intent signed in February 2025 between the Faculty of Arts of the University of Geneva and the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the University of Warsaw concerning scientific and didactic cooperation on issues related to philanthropy, humanitarianism, and social solidarity (Prof. Irene Herrmann, Dr. Renata Latała – University of Geneva, and Dr. Anita Budziszewska – University of Warsaw).

As part of this cooperation, a joint course was launched at the University of Warsaw in 2025 and the first scientific seminar was held: Philanthropy and Humanitarianism: Different Faces of Solidarity? The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw also hosted Dr. Renate Latala as a visiting professor during the Summer semester of 2024/2025.
