Together with the United Nations Information Centre in Warsaw, we invite you to the event UN Day 2024: Future Summit 2024 – Opportunities and Challenges for the United Nations in the Coming Decades, which will take place on October 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Prof. Jan Baszkiewicz Hall in the Auditorium Building of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw.
October 24 marks United Nations Day, commemorating the entry into force of the United Nations Charter. This year, the theme of UN Day in Poland is the Future Summit, which took place in September of this year and aimed to reform the international system, strengthen multilateral cooperation, and accelerate the fulfillment of global commitments. The Summit also sought to address contemporary challenges to ensure a stable future for future generations. During the UN General Assembly, world leaders adopted the Pact for the Future – the final document of the Summit, committing to implement the negotiated changes.
On this occasion, the United Nations Information Centre in Warsaw and the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw are organizing a conference featuring representatives from UN agencies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The program includes discussion panels, including on the topics of multilateralism and the impact of the Pact for the Future on Poland. A key part of the event will also be a youth panel, giving young people the opportunity to express their opinions on the future of international cooperation.
Registration ended.
