35 Years of Independent Uzbekistan – Conference

On 16 September 2026, the University of Warsaw Museum will host the conference “35 Years of Independent Uzbekistan: Reform Achievements of the New Uzbekistan and the ‘Uzbekistan – 2030’ Strategy.” The event will focus on the transformations taking place in Uzbekistan, the results of reforms implemented to date, and the country’s development priorities under the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy.

The conference will bring together representatives of the governments of Uzbekistan and Poland, members of the diplomatic corps, academics, think tank experts, and media representatives. It will provide an opportunity to discuss the future direction of reforms and to strengthen expert, academic, and policy dialogue between Poland and Uzbekistan.

The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. Speakers will include Mr Aleksander Kwaśniewski, former President of the Republic of Poland; Mr Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Poland; and Prof. Agnieszka Bieńczyk-Missala, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw.

One of the highlights of the programme will be the presentation of the Polish-language edition of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy, followed by a keynote address by Dr Eldor Tulyakov. A panel discussion with representatives of the Polish and Uzbek parliaments and the academic community will follow. The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Dorota Heidrich.

The conference will conclude with a Q&A session and closing remarks.

The event is organised by, among others, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Poland, the Development Strategy Centre, the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, the Aleksander Kwaśniewski “Amicus Europae” Foundation, and the Perspektywy Education Foundation.
