Dear Scholars, Administrative Staff, Service Staff, PhD Students and Students!
According to the rector’s order from 21st of May 2020 relating to the threat of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, as head of the organisational unit, I am introducing from 25th of May 2020 until further notice the following restrictions and regulations regarding the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw.
- The closure of all department secretariats (Żurawia 4, Nowy Świat 67 on the first and second floors, Krakowskie Przedmieście 3). The office hours of administrative staff are scheduled between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Contact is possible by phone and email.
- The access to Nowy Świat 67 building is limited only to the staff, who are essential for proper operation of the unit. Other people are allowed to enter premises only after obtaining the individual, one-time consent from the Dean, Vice Dean for Finance and Development or the Administrative Director.
- Working time in Nowy Świat 67 building is between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.
- The closure of all spaces at the disposal of the Faculty of Political Sciences and International Studies of the University of Warsaw, which are under the administration of other Universities of Warsaw: Żurawia 4 (fourth and fifth floors) and Krakowskie Przedmieście 3 (second floor). It will not be possible to access these departments and secretariats.
- I am limiting access to the Collegium Politicum Auditorium Building located at Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28 – on the main campus of the University of Warsaw. The entrance by staircase B is closed. Access is only via staircase A. The access to the building is limited only to the staff, who are essential for proper operation of the unit. Other people are allowed to enter premises only after obtaining the individual, one-time consent from the Dean, Vice Dean for Finance and Development or the Administrative Director.
- Working time in the Auditorium Building is between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
- Office hours of the Teaching Planning and Didactic Organization Section are scheduled between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Contact is possible by phone and email.
- Office hours of the Scholarship Office are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, during which it will be possible to reach the section by phone and email. On other days, this is Tuesdays and Thursdays administrative staff is directed to work from home and it is possible to research the section only by email.
- Office hours of the Research Office are scheduled from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, during which it is possible to reach the section by phone and email.

- Office hours of the IT Support Office (USOS) are scheduled from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, during which it is possible to reach the section by phone and email.
- Office hours of the Degrees and Doctoral Studies Section are scheduled from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, during which it is possible to reach the section by phone and email.
- Office hours of the Archive are scheduled from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, during which it is possible to reach the section by phone and email.
- The closure of the Dean’s Secretariat for petitioners. There will be two people on duty during the building’s working hours. Contact by phone and email is possible.

- The closure of Students’ Office for petitioners. There will be two people on duty during office hours in the Polish-language studies and in the English-language studies. Contact by phone and email is possible.

- The closure of the Promotion and Communication Office for petitioners. There will be one person on duty during office hours. Contact by phone and email is possible.
- Building administrators are on duty from Monday to Friday during office hours between 9:00 am and 3 pm.
- For purposes of the security of the facilities, service staff (one person) is on duty 24/7.
- The Dean’s plenipotentiaries – possible phone and email contact during office hours:
- Dean’s Plenipotentiary for Public Procurement – office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
- Dean’s Plenipotentiary for Erasmus+ Programme – office hours on Mondays between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
- Didactic Unit Head’s Representative for Admission – office hours from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
On other days, contact by email.
- The staff who do not have office hours are directed work from home. Contact by email is possible.
- I would kindly remind you that according to the article 51b paragraph 4 of the Act – Law on Higher Education and Science, during the period of suspension or limitation of the functioning of the university and for 60 days after its completion Students’ ID cards and Academic Teachers’ ID cards will remain valid without the obligation of confirming their validity. This provision also applies to ID cards that have expired in 30 days preceding the limitation or suspension of the functioning of the university. Similar regulations regarding the validity of PhD student ID cards are included in the article 198b of the Act – Law on Higher Education and Science.
- All previous regulations regarding the cancellation of foreign and domestic trips, participation in conferences, reception of guests, rentals, etc. remain in force.
- Didactic and student matters are being coordinated by the Head of the Didactic Unit who will remain in constant contact with you.
- I kindly ask you to keep up-to-date with the current situation by checking the Faculty’s website for further announcements.
In spite of the changing conditions and restriction removal, we still find ourselves in a situation where conscious and careful action should be a priority. I kindly ask each person to get acquainted University of Warsaw Chancellor’s announcement (attached) and to comply to the guidelines contained therein.
