We are pleased to announce that the book Let’s Agree on Poland, co-edited by Anna Wojciuk, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, has just been published by the prestigious Oxford University Press.

The volume is an English-language translation and expansion of the popular book Umówmy się na Polskę (Znak, 2023). The academic edition includes additional theoretical and methodological chapters and adopts a comparative perspective, examining political polarization also in the context of other democratic countries.

Let’s Agree on Poland is a unique collective project, co-created by 28 authors representing a wide range of ideological views, united by the search for a new language of understanding about the foundations of democracy. The book combines scholarly reflection with literary elements, featuring five fictionalized chapters by acclaimed Polish authors – Ziemowit Szczerek, Sylwia Chutnik, Piotr Siemion, Marta Kwaśnicka, and Karolina Lewestam – translated into English by outstanding literary translators.

The Polish edition was a bestseller in 2023 and was nominated for the Marcin Król Award.

Publication by Oxford University Press – one of the world’s most selective and respected academic publishers – marks a major achievement for the 28 contributors, including two members of the Faculty.
Professor Anna Wojciuk is the co-editor and co-author of five chapters, while Professor Tomasz G. Grosse co-authored Chapter 6, “Strengthening Democracy.”
