Conference “Bilateral Disputes and the Role of Member States in the EU Enlargement Process”

On behalf of the Department of Law and Institutions of the European Union at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, we would like to invite you to the conference “Bilateral Disputes and the Role of Member States in EU Enlargement,” which will take place on May 25, 2026, from 12:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in Room 317 of the Auditorium Building.

The event will focus on the role of bilateral disputes and member states in the European Union’s enlargement process. The program includes a welcome address, a speech by Nikola Dimitrov—former Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia and chief negotiator of the Prespa Agreement—and a panel discussion featuring experts from academic institutions and think tanks.

The panel will feature Zoran Nechev, Magdalena Góra, Matteo Bonomi, and Wojciech Przybylski. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Spasimir Domaradzki from the Department of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw.

The conference is organized in cooperation with the Istituto Affari Internazionali, Jagiellonian University, and the Res Publica Foundation, with support from the Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans as part of the InCLUDE initiative. We invite everyone interested in European politics, the EU enlargement process, and the role of member states in shaping the future of the Union.
