On Friday, September 27, 2024, we held the inauguration of the academic year for students of the English-taught programmes at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw. It was a day filled with pride, and joy that will be remembered for a long time, as this year’s admission broke all records!

Thanks to many years of intensive promotional efforts and the global reputation of our Faculty, for the first time in history, we exceeded the remarkable number of 600 students in our English-taught programmes. Moreover, in the 2024/2025 academic year, we successfully launched all six English-language programmes, offering a wide range of opportunities for ambitious students from around the world. The programs include:

  • Undergraduate Programme in International Relations – a key course for future leaders in diplomacy.
  • Undergraduate Programme in Political Science – studies shaping the understanding of global political mechanisms.
  • European Politics and Economics (jointly conducted with the Faculty of Economic Sciences) – a unique combination of political and economic knowledge in a European context.
  • Social and Public Policy – a program for those who aspire to change the world through political and social actions.
  • Graduate Programme in Political Science – master’s studies for future experts in political science.
  • Graduate Programme in International Relations – a course preparing specialists for working in a globalized world of international cooperation.

The inauguration was graced by distinguished guests, including the Dean of our Faculty, Dr. Daniel Przastek, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs at the University of Warsaw, Dr. Maciej Raś, Dr. Dorota Heidrich – Representative for the Development of English-Taught Programmes, Dr. Tomasz Mering – Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, as well as student representatives and program directors. The event was hosted by Dr. Barbara Regulska-Ingielewicz. In an atmosphere of great solemnity, the speakers emphasized not only the exceptional admission figures but also the dynamic development of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies on the international stage.

The room was filled with enthusiasm and hope for the coming year, as newly admitted students had the opportunity to feel part of a truly global academic community. The Faculty is focused on internationalization, enabling students from various corners of the world to learn from top specialists and build valuable international connections that will open doors to careers in international institutions and organizations.

This is a special moment in the history of our Faculty, demonstrating our strong position in the academic world and the trust placed in us by students from across the globe. The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw continues to evolve, offering modern and high-quality education, and the future looks bright for us!

Once again, we warmly welcome our new students and wish them much success on their academic journey!
