Participatory Academic Online Workshop – Emotional Dynamics of Housing Policy in the Visegrad Region: Security as a Social Value

The University of Warsaw, Charles University, ELTE Eötvös Loránd University, and Trnava University are launching a new international research project on the role of emotions in housing and public policy in the V4 countries. We would like to invite you to a participatory academic online workshop aimed at jointly developing a conceptual and methodological framework for housing research in the V4 region.

The workshop builds on a research programme devoted to emotions in social and public policy, developed by Prof. Ryszard Szarfenberg and carried out in cooperation with partners from Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. The programme includes a special issue of the journal Social Policy Issues, a forthcoming academic monograph, and this international research project funded by the International Visegrad Fund.

The objectives of the workshop are to deepen the understanding of the conceptual and methodological frameworks of the research, ensure the comparability of national case studies across the V4 countries, and introduce the project to the wider research community while supporting the development of a long-term research network.

The workshop is intended for researchers, students, PhD candidates, and members of the professional community interested in housing, public and social policy, and socio-affective approaches.

The programme will include thematic presentations, moderated discussions, and interactive group work. The working language of the workshop is English. Registration is mandatory. The event will take place online on 12 March (Thursday) from 10:00 to 11:15.

The workshop is co-organised by ELTE Eötvös Loránd University, led by Prof. Adrienne Csizmady and Dr Lea Kőszeghy, and the University of Warsaw, where the workshop will be led by Prof. Ryszard Szarfenberg and Prof. Aleksandra Zubrzycka-Czarnecka.
