We would like to inform about call for students from Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, who would like to participate in International Summer School in Saint Petersburg.

St. Petersburg State University with the support of Academy of Korean Studies in the framework of developing the network between North and East European universities providing Korea Studies programs offers an International Summer School “Modern Studies of Korea at St. Petersburg State University” and invites foreign and Russian students (bachelors, undergraduates, graduate students) to participate at this event.
Dates of the event: September 7 – 9, 2020
Venue: St. Petersburg State University, Faculty of Sociology (St. Petersburg, 1/3 Smolny St., entrance 9).
Co-organizers: Faculty of Asian and Africans Studies and Faculty of International Relations, SPSU.
Participants of the Summer School: students of Korean studies programs of the following universities:
– University of Stockholm (Sweden) (5 students)
– University of Turku (Finland) (5 students)
– University of Warsaw (Poland) (5 students)
– University of Oslo (Norway) (5 students)
Students of the St. Petersburg State University are also invited to participate in the Summer School.
Event Language: English
The purpose of the international summer school: presenting lectures and interactive classes to foreign and Russian students studying Korean culture, language, history and modern development of Korean society; dissemination of 120 years of experience in studying Korea at the St. Petersburg State University; organizing visits to museums and research institutes of St. Petersburg preserving Korean collections of block prints, manuscripts and artifacts.
Main topics and directions:
– Classical Korean studies: history, language and literature;
– Socio-cultural aspects of the development of Korean society and the interaction of Korea and Russia;
– Korea in the system of international relations;
– Korea related collections in museums of St. Petersburg.
Additional terms:
– All foreign participants are provided with accommodation in a hotel near the university in St. Petersburg for 4 nights from September 6 to September 9, 2020;
– All foreign participants are paid an economy class round-way air ticket to St. Petersburg (arrival September 6, 2020, departure September 10, 2020);
– All foreign participants are provided with visa support (an official letter of invitation for visa);
– During the event (September 7 – 9, 2020, all) participants are provided with meals.
