The Finals of the 67th Edition of the Knowledge Competition on Poland and the Contemporary World

On March 28–29, 2026, the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw hosted the finals of the 67th edition of the Knowledge Competition on Poland and the Contemporary World, organized on behalf of the Ministry of National Education.

For two days, our faculty hosted the top students from all over Poland who had qualified for the final stage of the competition. The event program included both the competition portion and numerous other activities.

On the first day, following the ceremonial opening at the Faculty of Management, the participants took the Olympiad test. The students traveled to Krakowskie Przedmieście, where they had a meeting at the Presidential Palace. The events then moved to the Main Campus, where the test results were announced and oral exams were conducted. The day concluded with an artistic event in the Prof. Jan Baszkiewicz Auditorium.

On March 29, the finals of the 67th edition of the Olympiad began. We kicked things off with an Olympiad quiz featuring the nine top winners, hosted by Dr. Łukasz Szelecki. Immediately following the quiz, a special public speaking competition for the Olympiad Chair’s Award took place, centered on the theme of this year’s Olympiad: the civil service. Another highlight of the program was a meeting and debate titled “Poland and the EU in a Changing World,” moderated by Prof. Konstanty Wojtaszczyk with representatives from the academic and political spheres.

The finale culminated in a closing ceremony combined with the presentation of awards to the Olympiad winners. On behalf of WNPISM, the Dean funded generous cash and in-kind prizes for the winners.
