On November 9-12, the WNPISM delegation visited the United Arab Emirates. The reason for the visit was bilateral talks with the best university in the country – UAE University, meetings with our Faculty’s students, and participation in the official celebration of Independence Day in the Polish pavilion at the EXPO 2020 exhibition.
The faculty was represented by the delegation composed of: Daniel Przastek, Ph.D. – dean, Maciej Raś, Ph.D. – vice-dean for student affairs, prof. Jacek Męcina – the dean’s plenipotentiary for cooperation with the business community, Agnieszka Bejma, Ph.D. – the dean’s plenipotentiary for the student scientific movement and Jakub Nowotarski – head of the promotion and communication office. On behalf of the University of Warsaw, there was also a delegation from the Faculty of Economic Sciences, composed of: prof. Gabriela Grotkowska – dean and Tomasz Gajderowicz, Ph.D.
On November 10, talks were held with United Arab Emirates University – the best university in the country, which is at the same time a leader in the entire bay. The university is based in Al Ain, a town located 150 km from Dubai. The meetings concerned the possibility of exchanges for students and employees of both universities, as well as the possible launch of a double diploma. The visit was divided into two blocks and during the first one, the delegation from the University of Warsaw met with the Vice-Chancellor of the university, discussing the general terms of cooperation. In the second block, employees were divided and participated in thematic talks concerning, among others, student exchanges and research projects.
On November 11, at the invitation of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, the delegation took part in the official celebration of Independence Day in the Polish pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai exhibition. The next day, a meeting was held with the pavilion’s General Commissioner, Mr. Adrian Malinowski, and with students of the University of Warsaw who are doing internships while working at the pavilion.
