On 6th March seminar was held at the Regional Powers and Institutions in Indo-Pacific Region During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Neoliberal IR Perspective organized by the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University, the Department of Regional and Global Studies of our Faculty, the Polish Society for International Studies and The Center for International Studies and Development, Jagiellonian University.

The seminar was opened by Prof. Andrzej Mania from the Jagiellonian University and vice-president of PTSM. The moderator was Prof. Ewa Trojnar, vice-dean of the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University. Presentations were made by: Prof. Edward Haliżak, WNPiSM UW and chairman of PTSM; dr hab. Jakub Zajączkowski, head of the Department of Regional and Global Studies at WNPiSM and Dean’s Representative for international research projects and cooperation, and Prof. Jittipat Poonkham, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences of Thammasat University (Thailand) and Prof. Roberto Rabel, Victoria University of Wellington, visiting professor at the WNPiSM UW.

The hybrid seminar was attended by over 50 researchers, students and doctoral students from the Jagiellonian University, the University of Warsaw and other academic centers in Poland.

After the seminar, talks were held regarding the deepening of scientific and didactic cooperation between the WNPiSM UW and the WSMiP UJ. Dr. hab. Jakub Zajączkowski, prof. Jittipat Poonkham, Vice-Dean of Thammasat University, Prof. Dorota Pietrzyk-Reeves, vice-dean for science and internationalization at the JU WSMiP, prof. Ewa Trojnar, vice-dean for student affairs at WSMiP UJ, discussed the issues of academic cooperation between the three centers. A tripartite seminar is scheduled for early October at Thammasat University. In addition, discussions were held with Prof. Paweł Laidler, Dean of the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University and Prof. Robert Kłosowicz, head of the Department of International Relations at the JU JU WSMiP, with whom he discussed, among others, plans for academic cooperation between the Department of Regional and Global Studies of the WNPiSM and PTSM for the coming months. The seminar and visit to the Jagiellonian University was also an opportunity to discuss further scientific projects between researchers of international relations, dealing with the issues of Asian studies (Prof. Łukasz Gacek, Prof. Ewa Trojnar, Prof. Marcin Grabowski, Dr Łukasz Stach).
