

We are pleased to invite you to a seminar titled “From NATO’s Eastern Flank to the Indo-Pacific: Defence Industry Cooperation as a Medium of Cooperation” dedicated to defence industry cooperation as a tool for building strategic partnerships between Europe and the Indo-Pacific region.
The event will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Room 317 of the Auditorium Building. The seminar will be led by Dr. Jagannath Panda from the Institute for Security and Development Policy in Sweden. Also participating in the discussion will be Prof. Dong-Joon Jo from Seoul National University, Prof. Brendan M. Howe from Ewha Womans University, Dr. A-Yun Jin from the Korea Institute for Defense Analysis, and Dr. Choongkoo Lee from the Korea Institute for Defense Analysis.
The seminar is part of the NCN-OPUS project led by Dr. Saroj Kumar Aryal. The project is titled: “Forging a Transcontinental Shield: South Korea’s Defense Diplomacy in Europe and the Evolving Korea-EU Security Partnership.”
The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss contemporary security challenges, defense industry cooperation, and evolving strategic relations between Europe, NATO, and Indo-Pacific nations, with a particular focus on South Korea’s partnership with the European Union.
