The Minister Krzysztof Skubiszewski Prize for the Best Master’s Thesis on Polish Foreign Policy

The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies announces the next edition of the Minister Krzysztof Skubiszewski Competition for the best master’s thesis on Polish foreign policy.

The competition is organised in cooperation with the Krzysztof Skubiszewski Foundation. Its purpose is to promote, among students of Polish universities, knowledge of Professor Krzysztof Skubiszewski—the first Minister of Foreign Affairs of the restored Republic of Poland—and of the principles underpinning the foreign policy he pursued during a period of historic transformation.

The thematic scope of the competition is, however, considerably broader. Awards are granted for the best master’s theses on Polish foreign policy, with particular emphasis on Poland’s European policy and the country’s place in Europe from ideological, legal and institutional, political, strategic, and economic perspectives. The starting date for the period covered is 1945.

Master’s theses defended at Polish universities by 30 September of a given academic year may be submitted to the competition, irrespective of the candidate’s field of study. Theses must be submitted by 30 November, in either printed or electronic form, together with a recommendation from the thesis supervisor explaining the reasons for nominating the thesis for the competition.

One prize, consisting of a diploma and a cash award, as well as two distinctions, will be granted, provided that the submitted theses are of a sufficiently high standard.
