A New Chapter: Graduation of the WNPiSM Class of 2026

Yesterday, graduates of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw officially completed one of the most important stages of their academic journey. The graduation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic year took place at the University of Warsaw Library, followed by celebrations in the University Library Gardens.
It was a day filled with pride, emotion and joy—a symbolic culmination of years of study and the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of our graduates.
The ceremony was attended by members of the WNPiSM Dean’s Board: Vice-Dean for International Cooperation Prof. Agnieszka Bieńczyk-Missala, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs Dr Tomasz Mering, Vice-Dean for Financial and Administrative Affairs Dr Tomasz Godlewski, and Vice-Dean for Research Prof. Łukasz Zamęcki.
The event was also honoured by the presence of His Magnificence the Rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, as well as representatives of the Rector’s Board: Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Teaching Prof. Maciej Raś, Vice-Rector for Research Prof. Zygmunt Lalak, Vice-Rector for Development Prof. Ewa Krogulec, and Vice-Rector for Doctoral and Legal Affairs Prof. Adam Niewiadomski.
The ceremony was also attended by Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Prof. Andrzej Szeptycki, together with deans of other faculties, representatives of University of Warsaw units, heads of degree programmes, thesis supervisors, lecturers, administrative staff, invited guests, and the families and friends of the graduates.
The ceremony was opened by Prof. Agnieszka Bieńczyk-Missala, who, on behalf of the WNPiSM Dean’s Board, emphasised that graduation is a unique moment—one that closes an important chapter in life while opening the way to new challenges, opportunities and experiences.
A particularly moving part of the ceremony was the tribute paid to the memory of the late Dean of WNPiSM, Prof. Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk. Her dedication, kindness and commitment to the development of the Faculty and its community will forever remain in our memories.
The Rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, also addressed the graduates, congratulating them on completing their studies at Poland’s leading university and at the country’s foremost Faculty of Political Science and International Studies.
Ms Agnieszka Pietrzak spoke on behalf of students from Polish-language programmes, while Mr Kaloyan Kostov represented graduates of English-language programmes.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of congratulatory letters. The heads of degree programmes, together with Prof. Maciej Raś and Dr Tomasz Mering, presented them to all graduates.
This exceptional day can be summed up in the words of Dean Prof. Agnieszka Bieńczyk-Missala: “Once again, we warmly congratulate all our graduates on their achievements. Follow your dreams, and please remember that the doors of our Faculty and our University will always remain open to you.”
