India’s relations with Central Europe have been radically transformed from being a subset of Indo-Soviet relations during the Cold War to the rediscovery and rebuilding
of relations almost from scratch in the post-Cold War era. The combination of Brexit, the rise of China and India’s expanding geo-economic interests in Europe have led the Narendra Modi government since 2014 to contemplate relations with Central Europe through a more strategic lens and treat the region as an autonomous element within India’s foreign policy rather than a footnote of its relations with other great powers.

In this expert seminar, Europeanists, economists, think-tankers, and policymakers present diverse perceptions and perspectives of the growing economic and political engagement as well as the potential and prospects of relations between India and Central Europe.

The task “Including foreign researchers in the teaching of the University of Warsaw” is organized under the Program of Integrated Activities for the Development of the University of Warsaw and financed by the European Social Fund. The goal of the ZIP program, implemented at the University of Warsaw in 2018-2022, is to develop the competences of students, doctoral students and employees, and to introduce tools that will improve university management.
